BLACK FRIDAY SHOPPING - NOTHING BUT MAKEUP

I was downtown for meetings yesterday and a group of us decided to pop into Holt's to check out the Black Friday sales. Unfortunately, the sales in Canada are nothing compared to the sales in the US. There were five of us shopping and despite having the best of intentions (we all really wanted to buy something), Amanda and I were the only ones who left with anything (makeup, of course) and it wasn't on sale. Buying makeup is always a perfect pick-me-up and I'm very excited about these new purchases. Here's a peak at what we picked up.
After seeing this Lisa Eldridge video featuring the CHANEL Limited Edition Ombres Matelassees Eyeshadow Palette in Charming, I had to pick it up. It's from the newest Holiday collection and is so pretty and such a great useable palette. I love the luxe look of the quilted pattern and the colours are all great basics.

I also picked up another item from the Holiday Collection, CHANEL Rouge Allure Lipstick in Radieuse #217. It's such a pretty light pink with a hint of blue. I have a serious weakness for pretty pale pink lipsticks like this. When I tried this colour on, Jess and Amanda both said it looked great but I probably already had something similar at home... I'm nothing if not predictable! While that's true, I couldn't help myself. The colour is fantastic and I love the feel and texture of this lipstick. It's very moisturizing and glides on so smoothly.
Amanda was on the hunt for a deep plum lipstick but ended up buying a fantastic gloss from Chanel instead. She picked up the CHANEL LĂ©vres Scintillantes Glossimer in Crushed Cherry #176. It's a new colour from Chanel and is such a deep, rich purple. It's such a modern colour and is a great alternative to red for the holidays.

1. HOURGLASS AMBIENT LIGHTING PALETTE: This is a limited edition palette that looks amazing! It features state-of-the-art technology high-tech, soft-focus finishing powder to recreate the most exquisitely flattering types of light. The powder utilizes photoluminescent technology to filter out harsh light and refine the appearance of the complexion. I've been hearing so many great things about Hourglass products lately that I really need to try some of their products out.
2. DERMALOGICA DAILY RESURFACER: Jess is a fan of the Dermalogica Daily Resurfacer. It's a daily leave-on exfoliating treatment designed to brighten and tone the skin. You know what a fan I am of Dermalogica products so I'm definitely adding this to my must-try list.
3. HOURGLASS OPAQUE ROUGE LIQUID LIPSTICKAmanda bought this and has raved about it! She has Raven and Ballet which both look beautiful. It's described as a richly pigmented and smooth matte lip colour that delivers 14 hours of continuous wear without flaking or dryness. Hello - it sounds perfect for holiday parties!
4. PUR MINERALS MINERAL MAKEUP FOUNDATION: Coralie has been using this 4 in 1 pressed powder mineral makeup with SPF 15 for the last few months and is a big fan! Her skin has been looking fantastic so I wouldn't hesitate to try any of the products she recommends.
5. GIVENCHY LE ROUGE: This is a recommendation from Jordana. She has a few colours from this lipstick line and recently bought me the vibrant fuchsia. The packaging is uber-stylish and is encased in a leather case.
