Even though it's mid-August and summer is almost over it's important to continue to wear sunscreen on a daily basis all year round. I had melanoma when I was 25 so since then I've been extremely diligent in protecting my skin. Not only do I want to protect my skin from skin cancer but I also want to protect my skin from wrinkles.
I've written about EltaMD's UV Clear SPF 46 in the past. It's the best sunscreen I've ever used! I really can't recommend it enough. It combines the broad-spectrum sunscreen protection of zinc oxide with the skin care benefits of Niacinamide to calm and protect sensitive, acne-prone skin. It's so light yet moisturizing, you'd never guess it's a sunscreen and it doesn't have the usual 'sunscreen' scent that usually bothers me so much. It's also never caused a breakout which is extremely rare for my super sensitive skin. Because I love UV Clear so much, I've decided to try a few more products in the EltaMD sunscreen range (they really have something for everyone).
I've started to use EltaMD UV Sport SPF 50 and EltaMD UV Aero SPF 45 in my daily routine. They're both safe to use on kids and waterproof. The Aero spray goes on white so you can be sure of coverage and then dries clear. They're also fragrance-free, oil-free, paraben-free, sensitivity-free and noncomedogenic. They protect against UVA (aging) and UVB (burning) rays. They are the ultimate in sunscreens!
Next up for winter I think I'm going to try the EltaMD UV Shield SPF 45. It's not waterproof but is lighter than the Sport version and will be good for the colder months (I can't believe I'm saying that already).
