I'm late to the bandwagon but in recent weeks have become obsessed with Scandal. My favourite thing about Scandal (aside from Fitz because I LOVE him) is the fashion. Is there a better dressed woman on TV than Olivia Pope? She's made me re-examine my wardrobe and start wearing heels more often. She's also made me realize I need to dress up a lot more. She's chic and powerful and sexy. And she is always dressed like a woman. Really, who else lounges around their house in cream silk pants and cashmere sweaters? I'm usually wearing my lululemon's at night and she's drinking Merlot in silk and cashmere (I need to up my game and invest in some silk PJs - LOL).

This soft pink Ferragamo coat is so chic. I loft the pale colour and the wide shawl collar.

Since Olivia Pope is making me reexamine my closet, I thought I'd list out my top tips for Olivia Pope style:

1. CLASSIC: Olivia sticks to classics. She skips trends and instead focuses on power suits with feminine tailoring. While she doesn't go with the latest trends or heavy patterns, she wears bouclĂ© and tweed to perfection. She's also single handedly bringing long elbow-length leather gloves back in fashion.
2. NEUTRAL: Olivia wears a lot of neutral colours - white, cream, ecru, camel, gray and black are her staples. And when she opts for colour, it's in the pale pink, ice blue or light green family.
3. PERFECTLY TAILORED: Everything Olivia wears is perfectly tailored. She wears a lot of suits but they always fit to perfection and feature a defined waist, unusual collar or detailed shoulder.
4. CLEAN: Olivia wears clean lines that flatter her shape and highlight her curves. While her clothing is always beautifully detailed, it's never busy or over-the-top.
5. STRONG: Olivia always dresses like a woman. She looks sexy and chic but also strong and powerful. Think modern-day power suits. Traditional power suits bring female politicians to mind (i.e. Hillary Clinton) however Olivia's suits are incredibly stylish and fashionable.

Watching Scandal has been another reminder for me to invest in quality pieces that are perfectly tailored and transcend seasons!

If you haven't watched Scandal yet, I highly recommend it. I'm already counting down the days till Season 3 starts!

When I went to NY last week I used my new Louis Vuitton passport cover. It's personalized with my initials and custom colours. Carrying this around makes travelling a lot more glamourous!

To celebrate the 35th anniversary of it's iconic Varina and Vara flats, Salvatore Ferragamo has launched the L'Icona campaign featuring 21 of the world's most fashionable tastemakers. Featuring the likes of Miroslava Duma (my style crush), Lauren Santo Domingo, Olivia Palermo and Lily Aldridge the campaign has an online gallery with images of the style setters in their own custom flats.

The most exciting thing about the campaign is that anyone can order a custom pair for themselves. You can customize the leather, colour, ribbon, hardware - you can even put your initials on the sole (how luxe is that?!?!). You know I'm a sucker for all things monogrammed.

I was inspired to write this post after having dinner with Sarah Spence from High Road Communications last night - she was wearing the most amazing pair of Ferragamo heels (this is a similar pair) and looked so chic. Of course, I have my heart on a pair of the Varina flats. These ruby red ones are so pretty but I also love these pink ones, navy ones, beige ones and classic black...there are too many fabulous colours!

Here are some photos of how the L'Icona tastemakers have styled their Varina and Vara flats. I'm obsessed with how Jessica Hart styled hers with boyfriend jeans and a cool tee!

What would your custom colour combination be?

TOP: I started the week with an amazing Hot yoga class with Samantha at Lifetime Fitness and received a gorgeous bouquet of flowers (which brightened up the week).
BOTTOM: Outfit snapshot: Zara blazer, Club Monaco tank, GAP pants, Chanel flats. R: Kingsley's new Adidas kicks are adorable!

TOP: I went to NYC for work on Thursday and Friday and got to use my Louis Vuitton Monogrammed Passport Holder (which I LOVE). I also hit up Barney's and Saks when I had some free time. I bought Chantecaille's Nano Gold Energizing Eye Serum and the MiH Marrakesh Jeans (which are an AMAZING fit) from my previous post when I was there. BOTTOM: I couldn't pass up Macarons from La Duree when I was on Madison!

Kingsley had his first soccer game on Saturday. Seeing all the little kids running around after the ball was pretty adorable! He was swimming in his uniform but loved running up and down the field after the ball.

We had a wedding on Saturday night and Kingsley looked adorable in a J. Crew suit. Bubba ended up wearing his tie and he switched into his red Chucks at the reception (LOL). Kingsley was wearing the Ludlow Suit Jacket and Pants, Secret Wash Shirt in Gingham,  Classic Wing Tip Shoes and a Plaque Belt

I wore very RED lips to the wedding. I couldn't decide on what red to go with so I ended up layering three different shades - it was a combination of a couple different Nars lipsticks (Red Lizard, Terre De Feu and Mascate). You can't really see my outfit in this shot but I also wore an Elizabeth and James blazer, Pink Tartan dress and J. Crew statement necklace

Kingsley having a Father's Day cuddle with Romeo. They were adorable in their matching polos!

Danna has a pair of MiH flared jeans that I'm borderline obsessed with. I decided to do a post on one of my favourite looks - flared jeans and stripes! I know all of these 'looks' are very Fall/Winter inspired but  flared jeans can easily go into Spring/Summer too with cute tanks and blazers.

STRIPED TOP: Anthropologie Slim Striped Linen Pullover (I just ordered this)

For the girls edition of Summer Essentials, I asked Samantha from Cherry Pie Twins to pull together her list of must-have items. Here's her list:

After seeing Lauren's fab summer essential for boys, I couldn't wait to put together my summer essential for girls. Summer is especially great for little girls because even the most casual, inexpensive dresses can always look cute on a mini fashionista. I completely agree with Lauren that it's best to stock up on sale items and to never buy full price at the retail stores like baby GAP. Plus, there are always so many trendy things for little girls at inexpensive stores like H+M and Target.

ROMPERS: One piece and unbelievably cute. Rompers are the summer essential for little girls! The ruffle on this romper from baby GAP is a sweet touch. If you want to up the style factor even more, opt for a one shoulder romper.

COTTON TANK DRESS: This is the perfect causal dress that can be used for a quick trip to the play ground or as a swimsuit cover up. H+M has them in a variety of colours and patterns, and they are an amazing deal at just $5.95.

SEQUINS: Not just for evening anymore, sequins are an adorable detail on any little girl's outfit and a must have for summer.

NEONS: Neon is hot right now.The brighter, the better. Neon works for play time and party time so don't be afraid to dress your little grils in the brightest brights.

FEDORAS: Just like the boys, every little girl needs a fedora for summer. They are an essential part of sun safety and are yet still completely cute.

WHITE CARDIGANS: I always like to have white cardigans for my little girls because they pair perfectly with sundresses and provide a bit of coverage when it's cooler or when we are inside an air conditioned building on a hot day, and they can be easily removed and tossed into my bag. I like white because white goes with everything.

SWIM SUIT: No summer wardrobe is complete without a swimsuit. Bright colours and cute embellishments work best for splish splashing!

SANDALS: I like to spend more on one pair of good quality shoes per season for my little girls. I like Geox because they are very durable and yet still so cute. These metallic, studded sandals would go perfectly with any outfit.

Check out Samantha and her girls adorable style over at Cherry Pie Twins!

J. Crew is having a 30% off summer sale right now through June 9th. Use the code SUMMER30 for the discount. I stocked up on some essentials for Kingsley and a few tops for me. I picked up this Peplum top (in navy and white) and this striped Painter Tee. And I got Kingsley a few cute tees (the Boys Ringer Pocket Tee, Park 'N Ride and The Best), a Baseball Sweatshirt, Shorts (these Turquoise ones and Seersucker) and these Adidas kicks

I have always been a Gloss girl. I've been obsessed with lip glosses forever and always have multiples at hand where ever I go. They've always been my go-to. When I leave in the morning or throughout the day, I usually just swipe gloss on my lips and go. I still bought lipsticks but I just didn't wear them very often. But in the last few months, I've stopped using gloss and have been borderline obsessed with lipstick. I'm having a Lipstick 'moment.' I don't know why I've made the shift but I've been feeling a 'Lipstick' lip over gloss for the last few months. And I've also been experimenting with colour a lot more (red, fuschia, light pinks). Amanda and I had a conversation about it a few weeks ago and she was finding the same thing. She's moved away from gloss to lipstick. Since it wasn't a conscious decision, I don't know if the move is because there's a Lipstick trend right now and I was unconsciously following it or whether after wearing gloss for years, I'm just in need of a change... Is anyone else experiencing a Lipstick moment?

After hearing Danna rave about her new "coziest sweatpants ever," I became somewhat obsessed with these Lazy Pants. They come in a rainbow of colours and look unbelievably comfy! Lazy Pants are made to feel roomy without being baggy, with traditional drawstrings and tight elastic cuffs. They really do look like the coziest pants ever.

After a horribly cold start to Spring, the warm weather is here and it already feels like Summer! I thought I'd put together a guide of Summer wardrobe essentials for boys. Here are my picks:

COLOURFUL TEE'S: Bright, colourful tees are an essential for any little boys wardrobe. I love seeing Kingsley in bright colours and this Ringer Tee in Wide Stripes is a wardrobe staple.
PATTERNED SHIRTS: For nights out, short sleeved patterned shirts are a must. I love Gingham patterns and the colours of this Secret Wash Neon Persimmon shirt are great.
ESSENTIALS ACCESSORIES: A great hat like this Straw Fedora and cool Tinted Lens Sunglasses are essential for every little boy's wardrobe.
BRIGHT SHORTS: Fun, bright shorts are a must. These Stanton Short Garment-Dyed Chino's in Vivid Aqua are perfect to pair with a bright tee or polo.
COOL KICKS: These Native Jefferson's are so fun. They come in the best colours and are washable, waterproof, odor resistant and shock absorbent.
FUN SWIM SHORTS: These Neon Palm Board Shorts are so fun and would be an instant hit at any pool.
RAIN JACKET: A colourful rain jacket is another must. K-Way's bring me back to my youth and this K-Way Colorblock Klassic Jacket is adorable.

My BIGGEST TIP for building your toddler a stylish closet (and not breaking the bank) is to SHOP SALES! Don't ever buy full-price. I always wait for sales before buying anything at J. Crew or Baby Gap. The same goes for all of the Ralph Lauren Polo I pick up for Kingsley. If you wait for the sales and then stock up you'll always be rewarded.

Bloomingdale's is having a Friends and Family sale now through Sunday, June 9th. You can get 20% off with the code JUNEFRIENDS. Happy Shopping!

I can't believe it's June already! Here is my latest beauty wish list. What's on yours?
1. NARS SATIN LIP PENCIL in Palais Royal. This is a beautiful sangria colour that's the perfect mix of red and purple.
2. CHANTECAILLE HIGH-DEFINITION PERFECTING POWDER is touted as a magic powder. Created specifically for high-definition cameras, the powder is supposed to erase pores and is suitable for all skin tones. I'm intrigued!
3. RODIN OLIO LUSSO OIL. All of a sudden I'm seeing this oil everywhere. It's acclaimed by numerous bloggers and beauty insiders as a miracle product. This is definitely on my wish list to try.
4. RODIN OLIO LUSSO LIP BALM is an all natural, sheer lip balm. The blush coloured balm combines jasmine, orange flower oil, shea butter, beeswax and castor seed oil.
5. TOM FORD LIP LACQUER in Pink Lust. Since I'm obsessed with Tom Ford lip products, I  obviously NEED to have the newest lip lacquer in my makeup bag. This colour looks so pretty for Summer.
6. LA ROCHE-POSAY EAU THERMALE. After seeing this video on Into The Gloss, I decided to start using spring water in my daily skincare routine. I've started by buying the La Roche-Posay thermal water for sensitive skin which claims to soothe skin irritated by outside factors (sun, dermatological treatments, etc.) and help prevent ageing. Isabelle Bellis recommends spritzing your face with thermal water before and after washing your face to off-set the effects of tap water. BTW - when I do this my DH thinks I'm crazy...LOL.
7. DERMALOGICA TOTAL EYE CARE. I am a big fan of Dermalogica products and Stuart  from High Road recently told me about another must-have product from this Aussie line. Total Eye Care is a brightening and smoothing eye protection cream.
