CURRENTLY OBSESSED: NUDE PUMPS

SPLURGE: PRADA Pointed Toe Pump $650 //
IN THE MIDDLE: COLE HAAN Chelsea Pump $345 //

I have wanted to buy a pair of nude pumps for the last few years and haven't gotten around to it. I'm determined to finally bite the bullet and get a pair for Spring. As much as I LOVE (and dream about) the Prada pair, I think I'll likely get the Cole Haan version. I already have the Cole Haan Nike Air pumps in a variety of colours and they're a great basic (comfortable and stylish).  Nude pumps are such a wardrobe staple, I can't believe I don't already have a pair.

SMYTHE: TAILOR MADE

Smythe blazers literally fit like a glove and are unbelievably flattering. They're pricey but this is a perfect example of how quality shows in the fit. A Smythe blazer is an investment and one that you'll wear for a long time. It adds instant style to any outfit and all of the little details and tailoring are really amazing. The Boucle jacket above is less structured than most Smythe blazers but it still fits like a glove and is extremely flattering. I tried both blazers on at Holt's (except in white instead of the blue) and they are  gorgeous!

STYLE SPOTLIGHT: DIANE KRUGER & JOSHUA JACKSON

Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson walked the red carpet for the Vanity Fair Oscar party last night and looked un-FRICKIN'-believable! The Giambattista Valli dress Diane wore was straight off the runway from Paris and it was spectacular. She didn't walk the red carpet for the big show but she was absolutely the best dressed of the night for me! Seriously, how many women can actually pull off a look like this? She is so unbelievably chic. And Joshua Jackson is just about the cutest thing ever. I love them together and have a MAJOR fashion crush on both of them!

OSCAR FASHION: GOOD & BAD

TOP ROW - THE GOOD: ZOE SALDANA wore an Alexis Mabille that is quite controversial. When I first saw it (from the waist up), I LOVED it! But once I saw the full-length I wasn't as crazy about it. I feel like I'm still on the fence mainly because of the slit in the front which looks cheap. I really love the top part though! // NAOMI WATTS looked stunning in Armani Privé. I love this dress on her and her body looks amazing. The only reason this didn't make my Best Dressed list was because she was nominated and I didn't feel like it was an appropriate 'Oscar nominated' dress. It feels like it would be perfect for The Met Gala // STACY KEIBLER wore a Naeem Kahn gown that was really stunning. I liked it on her but didn't LOVE it... If it was on someone else I may have loved it but Stacy makes everything a little 'low class,' no? // NICOLE KIDMAN wore L'Wren Scott and while I wasn't crazy about it at first seeing it on screen made me love it. It is so flattering on her and had amazing detailing.

BOTTOM ROW - THE BAD: HELEN HUNT wore H&M... I'll let that sink in. She wore H&M to the Oscars. It was wrinkled and tacky and so embarrassing // JENNIFER HUDSON wore Roberto Cavalli and tacky electric blue shoes. I can't believe anyone would wear the Euro-trash King on the red carpet at the Oscars but she did it. I think her body looks fabulous but this dress doesn't work // CATHERINE ZETA-JONES wore a gold Zuhair Murad that looks like it walked straight off the Dynasty set in the 80s // SAMANTHA BANKS is stunning but I have no idea why she was posing like she's a pin-up doll...I also don't think that this feels like an 'Oscar' dress but her pose is my biggest complaint.

OSCAR FASHION: THE BEST

TOP ROW: JESSICA CHASTAIN wore Armani Privé and looked like she stepped out of an old Hollywood movie. She brought so much old school glamour to the red carpet and I'm obsessed with her bright red lips // AMY ADAMS was ravishing in an amazing dove gray Oscar de la Renta. She was my favourite of the night and I would wear this dress in a hear beat // KERRY WASHINGTON wowed in am amazing Miu Miu // CHARLIZE THERON wore Dior (of course) and looked stunning. I don't know how she can rock that haircut and still be the most beautiful woman in the room... I'm so envious! She's exquisit!

BOTTOM ROW: JENNIFER LAWRENCE wore Dior Couture and it was a serious dress. I didn't like it when I first saw it but it grew on me and it's now one of my top favourites of the night. It really was a Cinderella moment for her // JENNIFER GARNER & BEN AFFLECK were so incredibly stylish together. I loved the colour of this Gucci dress on Garner and her necklace was out of this world! // JENNIFER ANISTON looks incredible in this red Valentino gown. I feel like this bright red colour is such a departure for her and I love it // EDDIE REDMAYNE is seriously the most stylish guy around. He is wearing the sh*t out of that suit and even has slippers on... Amazing!

So who was your favourite of the night?

OSCAR FASHION: THE WORST

TOP ROW: HALLE BARRY wore a sparkly Marchesa [update: it's actually Versace - but still hideous] dress that looks like it's from 1975. Seriously, the pattern is hideous and it makes her look like she has a belly which she most definitely does not! Horrible choice // SALMA HAYEK wore a black velvet Alexander McQueen that was horrible on her. If Charlize would have worn it I'm sure it would have been amazing but it just didn't work on Salma // ANNE HATHAWAY wore pink Prada and looked like she was trying to recreate a modern version of Gwyneth's Calvin Klein dress but it was a giant fail. I'm so shocked that Anne chose this (I expected her to go old school Hollywood glamour). It was a horrible choice // MELISSA MCCARTHY'S hair is going to give me nightmares.  I just realized that I cut off part of her hair in the picture above because it was so giant! I don't know what the hell happened on her way to the Oscars but it was horrifying.

BOTTOM ROW: KRISTIN STEWART wore Reem Acra and although it's a beautiful dress it didn't fit her AT ALL. The top was completely gaping. And she looked like she didn't wash her hair... // RENEE ZELLWEGER looked the same as usual in a gold Carolina Herrera dress. My biggest issue with her look was how strange her face looked...someone remarked that it looked like she had an allergic reaction because her face was so swollen. Renee REALLY needs to lay off the procedures! // JANE FONDA must have had too much to drink and thought it was still 1982 when she got dressed... what I found most hilarious was that her stylist was on E! talking about how amazing her dress was... WTF?!?! I almost fell on the floor laughing because everything about this dress screams dated and tacky // AMANDA SEYFRIED had so much promise! She was amazing on just about every red carpet this season so I expected her to pull out the big guns but this Alexander McQueen was a big fail for me. I hated the neckline (again, it felt so dated) and it just didn't fit her properly.

So who was on your worst dressed list tonight?

RED CARPET READY: PRTTY PEAUSHUN

Since it's Oscar night and I have red carpet glam on my mind, I thought I'd post about my latest beauty find that is the ultimate red carpet potion. Samantha introduced me to this cool new product recently when she bought me Prtty Peaushun for my birthday (she gave it to me a few weeks early because she's going away). My aunt introduced her to this cult favourite at Christmas and she's been raving about it since.

This wonder creams ingredients are supposed to out skin tone and enhance muscle tone, resulting in subtle light reflecting pigments that give a natural radiance. It even claims to diminish the appearance of cellulite, stretch marks and varicose veins - hello MIRACLE cream!

It's fragrance free, non-toxic and eco-friendly. It comes in five shades and gives skin an amazing glow while tightening at the same time. Samantha has Light and picked up Plain for me. The plain gives you a subtle shimmer without darkening your skin at all which is perfect for me.

There's a long list of celebs who use this cream including Gwyneth Paltrow (hello, it's been featured on GOOP), Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Nicole Ritchie (the list goes on). Oh, and the legs on the package below to celeb trainer extraordinaire Tracey Anderson.

If it didn't sound amazing enough already, the formula is PETA-approved, which means its 100% vegan. Highlights from the label include various coconut oils, grapefruit waxes, rosemary and calendula, avacado and jojoba oils, as well as healing/tightening arnica.

There are only a handful of stores where you can find Prtty Peaushun but the exclusiveness only adds to its allure.

You can check out Samantha's post on the cream here. Thanks Samantha for finding me another beauty product to obsess about ;-)

CURRENTLY OBSESSED: HISTORY + INDUSTRY

Jordana is great at finding new, cool designers and her latest jewellery find is really great! Jordana discovered History + Industry in a small boutique in Soho recently and they have amazing statement necklaces. Jordana remarked that it's easy to see that each necklace is made with a lot of care because they sit perfectly (something that can often be a challenge for large necklaces). These necklaces are pricey (most of them range between $160 - $210) but History + Industry is offering 20% off thru to Sunday with the promo code TREAT.

STYLE STALKER: JESSICA BIEL'S SUNGLASSES

Jessica Biel has been spotted out and about recently wearing Tom Ford's Lydia Sunglasses. Seeing these photos has reminded me of how much I love these glasses. I'm not usually a fan of Jessica's style but these glasses look amazing on her. They are a big classic frame that feels really current but also won't go out of style. They're timeless! I have these in black and they're one of my favourite pairs. It's hard to tell from the photo's if Jessica is wearing them in black or dark brown but they look great.

I must have sunny weather on my mind because I also did a guest post on Cherry Pie Twins this week on Sunglasses at a variety of different price points. Samantha is looking for a new pair of sunglasses and wanted a few recommendations at high, moderate and low price points. Check it out and let me know what you think!

BELLE SPOTLIGHT: TOM FORD LIP SHINE

I have a new beauty obsession...Tom Ford's Color Lip Shine line. As soon as I found out that Tom Ford had launched a new line of Lipsticks, I knew I needed to try them ASAP. I've written a lot in the past about my love of Tom Ford's lipsticks and his new Lip Shine line sounds amazing! Similar to Chanel's Rouge Coco Shine, these Lip Shine's are a lipstick/gloss combo (think lip balm + lip colour).  They come in 10 different shades and are divided into three colour groups: 5 Romantic pink shades, 3 Neutral shades and 2 Vivid colours. Plus they have Tom Ford's signature blend of rare ingredients, including Soja Seed extract, Brazilian Murumuru butter and Chamomilla flower oil.

At $48 each, the Lip Shines are pricey but in my experience with Tom Ford's lipsticks they'll be worth it. They're not available in Canada yet (hopefully Holt's will start carrying them soon) so I'm planning to order them from Neiman Marcus or Saks. I have Chastity, Smitten and Quiver on my list to try (all pinks) but Insidious, Frolic and Nubile sound great too. Here's an overview of the colours in the line:

  • Chastity (blush pink)
  • Smitten (honeysuckle pink)
  • Insidious (apricot)
  • Frolic (peach pink)
  • Ravenous (cerise pink)
  • Quiver (light blue pink)
  • Willfull (orange red)
  • Bare (beige nude)
  • Nubile (nude rose)
  • Abandon (light tan)

THE BAFTA'S 2013

The BAFTA's were today and there were some great looks on the red carpet. Here's a rundown:

ANNE HATHAWAY looked amazing in Burberry. This dress is so elegant and understated but it still feels youthful and fun - which is the genius of what Christopher Bailey is doing at Burberry right now.

JENNIFER LAWRENCE wore a great Dior dress and looked so beautiful. If I were her, I would have done something different with my hair (it feels a little too severe to me) but it's a really elegant look.

JENNIFER GARNER wore a dress that was really unexpected for her. I don't love it (the top looks like it doesn't fit properly) but I like that she tried something new and took a risk. Hopefully Rachel Zoe will steer her properly for the Oscars.

MARION COTILLARD was absolute perfection in yellow Dior! I've already posted on this dress but I couldn't do a BAFTA post without including her.

I debated whether to include JESSICA CHASTAIN in this post. She wore a bright blue Roland Mouret dress. The colour is spectacular and the dress was interesting...but something about the harsh cut/edges isn't very flattering. Let me know what you think!

STYLE SPOTLIGHT: MARION COTILLARD

Marion Cotillard wore a bright yellow Dior dress to the BAFTA's tonight and looks absolutely UNBELIEVABLE! I love this so much! The cut out on the side is so unexpected and I love the shape. Plus, it has pockets which obviously sealed the deal for me!

ANCHORS AWAY

Seriously, how cute is this Valera anchor sweater from Joie? I love the giant anchor and the colour combos. It could easily transition from winter to spring because it's such a fine knit. I'm always on the lookout for fun tops and this one definitely fits the bill!

CURRENTLY OBSESSED: PRINTED PANTS

I am OBSESSED with these amazing printed pants from J. Crew right now.  They are so fun and would instantly brighten up any day (seriously, how could you have a bad day in a pair of pants like these?!?!). J. Crew has a lot of great prints and colours right now but I especially love the Gilded Brocade - they're so chic. I'd wear the green ones with bright blue suede shoes or the adorable black/white bow pumps above. And I would definitely go simple on top with pants like these. Another print on top would be overkill.
