I picked up two new makeup brushes today. A large powder brush for applying loose powder (MAC 150) and a new blush brush (MAC 129). I had been using my previous brushes for years (a Stila powder brush and MAC blush brush) but despite washing my brushes once a week or every two weeks minimum, product seemed to collect on them very quickly and they were looking grungy. Ideally good brushes should last a lifetime but after 15+ years it was time to invest in new ones.

Do you have any tips on how to make your makeup brushes last? I clean mine with a gentle baby shampoo every 1-2 weeks but I'd love to hear any tips/tricks that you use.

  1. I use and love the MAC makeup brush cleaner. I love the way you display your brushes in the glass, are those coffee beans? Love it! I have been using a pencil jar...
