CURRENT OBSESSION

I am so in love with this Dannijo crystal necklace! It's pricey but really, really cool. Right? This necklace would instantly dress up any outfit!

MY WEEK & WEEKEND

It was another busy week. Here are a few snapshots (healthy eating ONLY starting tomorrow).

We had a movie night at Jess' house and this is what we ate... I almost never eat junk food so I felt disgusting afterwards! Starting next week I am going to be eating super healthy!

I don't know if you've tried this but it's HEAVEN! Chocolate, pretzel and peanut butter = AMAZING! I need to cut chocolate out of my life but it's so hard!

And cupcakes again! It was another team get-together. This is the last one for a while so no more cupcakes (thank god).

Another Shellac mani and I went light again! Going back to the basics is growing on me.

We had a BBQ and my boys were twinsies! Even their silly faces are the same...too cute!

Some more of the animals that were hanging out at the BBQ

Kingsley is obsessed with bouncy castles! He seriously can't get enough!

 And they like my car...

Four peacocks circling my car. Seriously bad parking spot - LOL

STYLE SPOTLIGHT

I know it's still July but I'm already craving Fall fashion. I can't help it, Fall is my favourite season and it always goes by so quickly! I love wearing scarves, blazers, leather jackets, etc... Since I'm already dreaming about Fall fashion, I thought I'd feature one of my favourite looks from Natasha Goldenberg. This is an old photo but it's such a cool look. LOVE!

Photo: I've had this photo on my computer forever but I'm not sure where it's from.

IT'S A BOY THING - SUMMER ESSENTIALS

When I first found out I was pregnant with my little one, I was positive that I'd have a girl. POSITIVE. I couldn't imagine having a boy...what would I do with a boy?!? And obviously clothing is SO MUCH better for little girls. Of course now that I have a little boy, I know that they're the BEST (at least he is) and I wouldn't change a thing. He's perfect! And he brings so much joy to my life. Every day is so much fun with him and he's an extremely stylish little guy!

My only complaint is it's hard to find fashionable boys clothing...there's so much more selection for little girls. I thought I'd do a post on my list of summer essentials for boys and some of my favourite places to shop for him.

Fedora, Colourful Tee, Crocs (or any easy-to-clean shoes in fun colours)

Fedora, Striped Polo

Colourful Tee, Plaid shorts, Crocs

My list of Summer essentials for little boys:
  1. A Fedora: this is my top essential because it makes any outfit instantly stylish. I've picked up two for Kingsley - one from The Gap and one from H&M
  2. Colourful & Patterned Tee's: Colour is essential for summer and bright tee's are great way to stylize your little one's wardrobe. I'm also a big fan of pattern. Especially stripes!
  3. Polos: You really can't go wrong with a polo. They're classic and instantly make your little boy look like a little man - which is adorable! I like to go with bright colours or playful patterns.
  4. Patterned shorts: I LOVE plaid shorts on little boys! They're super cute and look great with bright, striped Tee's or Polo's.
  5. Easy to clean, colourful shoes: Kingsley lives in his Crocs during the summer. They let his feet breath, stay on and are waterproof/easy to clean. And the fact that Kingsley and my DH have matching Crocs is super cute. The key is to buy bright, colourful ones! Jordana swears by Natives (her LO has the Jefferson's) which are super cute too.
  6. Chucks: Converse are essential for little boys all year round! Kingsley has red and black as staples in his wardrobe.

My favourite stores/brands for little boys are:
  1. Zara - My favourite place right now is Zara. They have the BEST selection of cute, stylish looks for boys. I've already bought a few cute Fall sweaters for Kingsley (yes, I know it's only July) and their jeans are my favourite.
  2. J. Crew - Crew Cuts is super cute! The kids clothing has the same laid-back preppy style as the adult selection. It's a good alternative for when you want your LO to look cute without looking  too hipster.
  3. Ralph Lauren - nothing looks cuter on little boys than a Ralph Lauren Polo. The line has great polos, sweaters, sweatshirts, jackets and shorts. I usually pick these up from Sporting Life (when they have sales) or The Bay
  4. The Gap - I think The Gap is good for basics. Jeans, sweaters, plaid shirts, PJs. I don't love The Gap  (it's a bit too generic) but they have great sales and can be depended on for some cute basics.

MY WEEK...

My week seemed to consist of a lot of food... I guess I'll be having a lot of salad next week to make up for it!

There's nothing better than La Duree macarons straight from Paris! Thanks AJ!

Lots of cupcakes at a baby shower for Jess (I only had one but still). They were AMAZING!

Isn't this the cutest basket? I have one with an owl on it in Kinglsey's room. And Jess' Little One will have a bubba too!

More macarons...LOVE!

CURRENT OBSESSION

I am currently obsessed with the Celine Mini Luggage. I love the shape and the fact that it looks like a sad robot cracks me up. I bought my Prada Saffiano Tote recently so I will have to save up my gift cards before I buy another bag but I'm always planning ahead and this Celine is at the top of my lust list.

STARS & SHINE

I went into Zara yesterday and found a really cute linen star t-shirt and fun necklace. The t-shirt comes in a number of different colours and patterns but you know what a sucker I am for star patterns! And after my post on J. Crew statement necklaces, I was thrilled to find this one for only $35! I'm still lusting after a few J. Crew necklaces but this was a fraction of the cost and will tide me over until J. Crew has a sale.

MAKE A STATEMENT

I know I write about J Crew's necklaces all the time but they really do have a fantastic selection of statement necklaces! Here are a few of my current favourites (I really want the Crystal Circle and the Venus Flytrap necklaces)!

iPHONE COUTURE

After being a long time holdout, I got an iPhone a few weeks ago and I'm completely obsessed. I'm still not used to typing on it (and I'm still using my Blackberry for work so I haven't switched over completely) but Instagram and all of the other apps more than make up for the typing issue.

Aside from the phone, I've also been super excited about getting a fun iPhone case! Amanda and I both ordered monogramed cases from Plum Street Prints. I went with the pink/white chevron case and Amanda got a fun colour blocked case.

Plum Street created and sent the cases really quickly. I had a slight issue with mine (it was crooked and had to be reprinted). However the Plum Street girls responded quickly and are having a new case made and sent out to me.

I'm already thinking about another case for Fall. LOL. I'm obsessed!

VALENTINO FALL 2012 COUTURE

The Valentino Fall 2012 Couture show was last week and to be honest I found it a bit boring... I like the first few dresses and the floral brocade prints (especially the yellow dress) but overall I find the shapes uninspiring and a bit puritanical (ugh).
