How amazing is this purple patent YSL clutch?!?! When I was a kid purple was my favourite colour and I pretty much refused to wear anything if it wasn't purple or pink. I've expanded my colour choices but I'm still in love with just about anything that's a vibrant purple like this. LOVE! It's definitely on my 'wish' list!

The girls at work brought a curling wand in one day to show me how easy it is to use and I've gone from being completely inept at doing anything with my hair to curling on a daily basis. My SIL picked up a great curling wand set for me that has 4 different sized barrels. I've been playing around with the two larger sized barrels and I'm still trying to perfect the technique but I thought I'd post this Beachy Waves 101 to show how easy it is. BTW - Please excuse all of the stupid faces I'm making in these photos (LOL).

Step 1: Start off by putting a protective serum on your hair. I'm using Moroccan Oil Light. Then use a clip to pin the top section of your hair up.

Step 2: Using a 1" or 1 1/4" barrel take a section of hair (I try to use one inch pieces) and curl it away from your face. For these photos I'm using a 1 1/4 barrel. I don't curl the very bottom of my hair around the wand so the curl is relaxed. I use a glove with the wand however most people I know find it difficult to curl their hair with the glove. I haven't had any trouble with it so I guess it's personal preference.

Step 3: When you finish curling the section of hair pull the piece straight for a few seconds to help relax the curl.

A finished curl.

Step 4: Continue curling hair in one inch sections all the way around.

Step 5: Put down top section of hair and continue to curl hair away from you face.

Step 6: Run your fingers through your hair and/or a brush to loosen the curls.

Step 7: Spray with hair spray. I'm using L'Oreal Elenet which is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. It really holds your curls but doesn't harden your hair at all. In fact, you can still run your fingers through your hair! Plus, they just came out with an unscented version.

Finished product: Loose, relaxed beachy waves.

What do you think? Do you use a curling wand or a curling iron?

I'm wearing the StyleMint Newbury T in these photos. It's my new favourite T!

I saw this amazing Elena Gloria Swarovski necklace on Malin from Mogi and I'm obsessed. It's such a beautiful statement necklace. Unfortunately I've only been able to find it for sale on Swedish websites and it's just too much. I'm going to keep my eye out for something similar closer to home though. I love the look!

So this is pretty much a blazer and blouse post because that's what I seem to have been drawn to lately. Zara has some really, really great blazers right now and I had some good shopping fate when I found blazers I was lusting over online in the store the other day.

I bought this cute T. Babaton blouse at Aritzia the other week. It's a good blouse to layer with blazers for work and the price is great. It also comes in an amazing blue/orange combo that my friend Amanda picked up and it's SO FUN!

So I couldn't stop myself from picking up three Zara blazers (they're so great). My friends say I'm predictable but I can't help being a sucker for tweed. The prices at Zara are great and they're good wardrobe staples for work. Plus it was shopping fate that I could find my size in all three of them...right? I think my favourite is the green, gold and white Fantasy blazer with gathered shoulders. I love this for Spring! And the cream colour Piped blazer with Zips is a fun twist on a classic 'Chanel-like' jacket.

The last Zara blazer that I picked up is the Studded Fantasy Fabric Blazer and it's so cool! It's the same fabric but longer than the other blazers and has cool studded detailing on the collar, pockets and arms. I wore this to work yesterday with black cropped pants but I can't wait to wear it with a pair of wide-leg jeans. My last purchase is the Nanette Lepore Jitterbug top. It's silk with lace applique on the front and butterfly sleeves. It'll be good to layer with blazers or to wear on it's own on a night out.

I posted about my recent purchase from StyleMint the other week and I have to say that overall I was really impressed. I ordered two Ts and despite the fact that I'm returning one of them, the quality of these Ts is really fantastic! So here's the rundown...

Delivery was quick and the T-shirts come wrapped in cute brown paper wrapping with coloured string and StyleMint stickers - super cute!

I bought the Newbury T-shirt in Black and I really, really love it. This shirt fits like a glove and the fabric is fantastic. It really is the perfect black T and for the price I would easily buy this in every colour (unfortunately they're sold out in white and charcoal right now). It's a really great basic and this shirt has made me a StyleMint devotee.

The other shirt I ordered was the Albany and I'm going to return this one. To be honest, I needed a bigger size in this because it was extremely short (although I'm not positive a bigger size would have made that big of a difference so that's why I'm not straight up exchanging it). The fabric is great and the cut is really cute but I hate tops that are too short so this one just isn't for me.

If you're ordering from StyleMint for the first time I would recommend going up a size because I think this line runs small but overall I'm definitely a fan. You really can't beat the quality or the price!
