OSCAR 2012 FASHION ROUNDUP

This is a quick post so I'm sure I might think differently about a few of these in the morning but here's my first impressions of the best, worst and everything in-between at the Oscars! Sorry for any typos!

BEST DRESSED: Michelle Williams in this amazing Coral Louis Vuitton dress. I love the colour, the texture and the ruffle! It doesn't match her yellow Vera Wang but it's a really great dress.

THE BEST DRESSED #2: Milla Jovovich dazzled in Elie Saab. I absolutely adore this dress and she is a vision! This is a true movie star look!

BEST DRESSED #3: Emma Stone looked lovely in this hot pink Giambattista Valli. It is somewhat reminiscent of Nicole Kidman's 2007 dress however I like this one a lot better and think it's perfectly appropriate given that she wasn't nominated.

BEST DRESSED #4: Thank god for Gwyneth! She brought serious fashion to the red carpet tonight wearing Tom Ford. I'm not the biggest fan of the cape but she looks undeniably gorgeous. Absolutely stunning!

SEXIEST SLIT & MUCH BETTER THAN USUAL: Angelina Jolie looks stunning in Atelier Versace. I like this 100x better than anything else she's ever worn - seriously! The posing is too much though. She just looks ridiculous sticking her leg out like that...it's unnatural and really isn't needed. The slit is up to her waist so we would still see it if she was standing with her legs a little closer together... Aside from the posing though, I love the velvet, love the pleats and detailing. It was a good showing!

BEST MOVEMENT: Cameron looks great in Gucci. When she walked on stage this dress had amazing movement. I wish the colour was a bit different because I think it's a bit too pale for her but it doesn't take away from how gorgeous it is. Oh and I really hate her hair cut but that's for another discussion.

BEST TV HOST: I thought Giuliana Rancic looked great in this Basil Soda dress. She looked better than a lot of the celebs!

BEST PATTERN: Jessica Chastain in Alexander McQueen. I think this was a controversial choice and I wasn't sure if I loved it at first but I think she looks really pretty and I love the movement at the bottom of the dress!

WORST SHOES WITH A GREAT DRESS: Rose Bryne in Vivienne Westwood. I don't know what it is about this dress but I really like it. I don't know if the fit is right though... And the shoes are horrible! They ruin everything.

BEST PINK: Kate Mara in a dress by Jack Guisso. This is definitely my favourite Mara sister! Stunning!

BIGGEST GIRL CRUSH: Glenn Close looks amazing in Zac Posen. I couldn't tell on TV that this is hunter green but I love it. She looks so chic.

MOST FLATTERING: Octavia Spencer looked stunning in Tadashi Shoji.

PRETTIEST BRIDESMAID: Kristen Wiig wore a really pretty J. Mendel dress. I love the dress but I don't think the colour does anything for her. Way too pale.

BEST TINA: Tina Fey looked stunning in a navy Carolina Herrera. I didn't really want her to wear black because she ALWAYS wears black but the fit of this dress is really spectacular. It's really, really flattering on her.

BEST DICTATOR: I thought Sacha Baron Cohen's bit with Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet was hilarious! Poor Ryan. It made for good TV though!

BIGGEST BOMBSHELL: Jennifer Lopez was SEXY in this Zuhair Murad dress. To be honest I don't LOVE the dress. The cut outs on the arms are tacky and I feel like she's worn this shape before but you can't deny that she absolutely glows. Seriously, how does she looks so good?!?!

WORST HAIR: So I love this dress on Kelly Osbourne. She looks stunning and her body looks great! But her hair is SO AWFUL! I honestly just can't get past it. Nothing looks good on her with this hideous mauve hair! Please go back to blonde Kelly!

WORST DRESS MATCHING HAIR: Ellie Kemper in Armani Prive. I thought this dress looked lovely on camera but the fact that it matched her hair exactly was a little too much for me.

WORST LACE: Berenice Bejo in Elie Saab. I didn't think this dress looked as bad on TV as it does in photos but it really isn't very flattering. The colour is just too pale and all of the lace is just boring.

WORST DRESS: Melissa McCarthy in a Marina Rinaldi dress. This is not good. I love Melissa but this dress is horribly unflattering. The colour is bad and this really just looks like a bedazzled sac.

WORST ECO-FRIENDLY DRESS: Missi Pyle. I don't know who she is but she was talking about the fact that this is an eco-friendly dress... Being eco-friendly really doesn't excuse the fact that her dress is so UGLY. I hate everything about this.

WORST PRINCESS LEIA: Shailene Woodley in Valentino. This is way too old for her. Blah, blah, blah...

WORST GIANT HIP FLOWER: Stacy Keibler looked like a golden Barbie in Marchesa. I actually loved the look from the hip up but the giant flower was just too much. Sometimes Marchesa just goes too far.

WORST MERMAID: Viola David in Vera Wang. I don't think I need to say very much here. It's not good, not good Vera!

WORST HEROINE CHIC & STAR TREK BOOBS: Rooney Mara in Givenchy. So aside from the weird Star Trek-thing happening around the boobs, I actually like this dress. But the hair is horrible and to be honest Rooney's heroine chic 'aloof' look is too much for me. I'm not a fan.

WORST 80s: Anna Farris in Diane Von Furstenberg. This is so unflattering and like Kelly Osbourne said on the pre-show 'it looks like something Liza Minnelli would wear.'

WORST GOLD: Meryl Streep in Lanvin. I don't need to say much. It's bad, just bad. Meryl needs to have a chat with Glenn Close.

BIGGEST BORE, WORST HAIR AND WORST NECKLACE: Natalie Portman in Dior. I hate everything about this. I don't like the shape of the necklace with the dress, I think the shape of the dress is deadly boring and her hair is actually offensive to me. She looks like she has a combover/mullet. I know a lot of other people aren't as offended by this look as I am but it's one of the worst looks of the night for me.

BEST TRY: Colin Firth's wife is wearing a Valentino dress that just doesn't work. I love that she tried but this dress is just too much for her!

WHO LET THIS ONE IN??? This is one of the ladies from The View. I have no idea why she was at The Oscars but this dress is beyond hideous! Her black bra that can be seen actually boggles my mind. I have no idea why she'd go with a style that's cut so low and then just slap on a black bra from JC Penny...

WORST PURPLE & DRESS WE'VE SEEN A MILLION TIMES: Penelope Cruz in Georgio Armani. This dress is too similar to everything else she wears and it just feels old. Blah!

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: Sandra Bullock looked so amazing at the Oscars last year so it was a big disappointment to see her in this unflattering Marchesa. I like the gold detailing but the fit of this dress doesn't do anything for her.

WORST PRINCESS: The prisoner bride and Prince Albert of Monaco attended the Oscars and although I think People picked the absolute worst photo of her nothing could help make this dress any better. This is really, really horrible!

INDEPENDENT SPIRIT AWARDS

The Independent Sprit Awards were yesterday and I thought I'd post my two favourite looks from the event. Michelle Williams and Kirsten Dunst both looked amazing!

Michelle Williams wore a navy and black suit with shorts - LOVE. It's such a fun and playful look. Hopefully she'll bring something exciting to the main event tonight!

Kiki, where have you been? Kirsten Dunst has had a very low profile lately but when she has stepped out she looks amazing. I love her D&G LBD, white blazer and the fun yellow clutch!

OSCAR HISTORY - BEST OF THE BEST

Leading up to the Oscar's tomorrow I thought I'd post some of my favourite Oscar looks throughout the years. These are the first ones that came to mind but I've probably forgotten some great ones. Let me know if you have any fav's that I've left off the list.

Nicole Kidman's Dior dress from the 1997 Oscars was iconic. I can hardly even remember Nicole and Tom together but I will never forgot this specific moment. Everyone was talking about this dress at the time!

Ah - Bennifer! Jennifer Lopez wore this mint green Valentino to the Oscars with Ben Affleck in 2003. It's still one of my favourites.

Charlize Theron wore a gold sparkly Gucci in 2004 when she won the Best Actress Oscar. In general she's probably one of my all-time favourite people to see on the red carpet because she looks amazing in everything.

This yellow Vera Wang is the dress that put Michelle Williams on everyone's fashion radar. This was in 2006 when she was still with Heath Ledger and it was a major moment.

I'm not usually a fan of Penelop Cruz but the Versace dress that she wore to the 2007 Oscars is one of my favourites.

In 2007, the year after Reese Witherspoon's Oscar win and her divorce from Ryan Phillippe, she wore this AMAZING purple Nina Ricci. The combination of her hair, her body and this amazing dress was perfection.

I LOVE Gisele and Tom Brady but before Gisele and Tom it was all about Gisele and Leo! When Gisele went with Leo to the Oscars in 2005, this white Dior dress was fantastic.

BURBERRY PRORSUM FALL 2012

Burberry Prorsum showed it's Fall 2012 show at London Fashion Week and it was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Like I want everything A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. The belted coats are perfection and the ruffle skirts are SO pretty. The use of texture and patterns make the collection really stand out for me (love the velvet, stripes and little owls).
