MY WEEK & WEEKEND

TOP: I started the week with an amazing Hot yoga class with Samantha at Lifetime Fitness and received a gorgeous bouquet of flowers (which brightened up the week).
BOTTOM: Outfit snapshot: Zara blazer, Club Monaco tank, GAP pants, Chanel flats. R: Kingsley's new Adidas kicks are adorable!

TOP: I went to NYC for work on Thursday and Friday and got to use my Louis Vuitton Monogrammed Passport Holder (which I LOVE). I also hit up Barney's and Saks when I had some free time. I bought Chantecaille's Nano Gold Energizing Eye Serum and the MiH Marrakesh Jeans (which are an AMAZING fit) from my previous post when I was there. BOTTOM: I couldn't pass up Macarons from La Duree when I was on Madison!

Kingsley had his first soccer game on Saturday. Seeing all the little kids running around after the ball was pretty adorable! He was swimming in his uniform but loved running up and down the field after the ball.

We had a wedding on Saturday night and Kingsley looked adorable in a J. Crew suit. Bubba ended up wearing his tie and he switched into his red Chucks at the reception (LOL). Kingsley was wearing the Ludlow Suit Jacket and Pants, Secret Wash Shirt in Gingham,  Classic Wing Tip Shoes and a Plaque Belt

I wore very RED lips to the wedding. I couldn't decide on what red to go with so I ended up layering three different shades - it was a combination of a couple different Nars lipsticks (Red Lizard, Terre De Feu and Mascate). You can't really see my outfit in this shot but I also wore an Elizabeth and James blazer, Pink Tartan dress and J. Crew statement necklace

Kingsley having a Father's Day cuddle with Romeo. They were adorable in their matching polos!

CURRENTLY OBSESSED: FLARED JEANS

Danna has a pair of MiH flared jeans that I'm borderline obsessed with. I decided to do a post on one of my favourite looks - flared jeans and stripes! I know all of these 'looks' are very Fall/Winter inspired but  flared jeans can easily go into Spring/Summer too with cute tanks and blazers.

STRIPED TOP: Anthropologie Slim Striped Linen Pullover (I just ordered this)

TODDLER STYLE: SUMMER ESSENTIALS FOR GIRLS

For the girls edition of Summer Essentials, I asked Samantha from Cherry Pie Twins to pull together her list of must-have items. Here's her list:
*****

After seeing Lauren's fab summer essential for boys, I couldn't wait to put together my summer essential for girls. Summer is especially great for little girls because even the most casual, inexpensive dresses can always look cute on a mini fashionista. I completely agree with Lauren that it's best to stock up on sale items and to never buy full price at the retail stores like baby GAP. Plus, there are always so many trendy things for little girls at inexpensive stores like H+M and Target.

ROMPERS: One piece and unbelievably cute. Rompers are the summer essential for little girls! The ruffle on this romper from baby GAP is a sweet touch. If you want to up the style factor even more, opt for a one shoulder romper.

COTTON TANK DRESS: This is the perfect causal dress that can be used for a quick trip to the play ground or as a swimsuit cover up. H+M has them in a variety of colours and patterns, and they are an amazing deal at just $5.95.

SEQUINS: Not just for evening anymore, sequins are an adorable detail on any little girl's outfit and a must have for summer.

NEONS: Neon is hot right now.The brighter, the better. Neon works for play time and party time so don't be afraid to dress your little grils in the brightest brights.

FEDORAS: Just like the boys, every little girl needs a fedora for summer. They are an essential part of sun safety and are yet still completely cute.

WHITE CARDIGANS: I always like to have white cardigans for my little girls because they pair perfectly with sundresses and provide a bit of coverage when it's cooler or when we are inside an air conditioned building on a hot day, and they can be easily removed and tossed into my bag. I like white because white goes with everything.

SWIM SUIT: No summer wardrobe is complete without a swimsuit. Bright colours and cute embellishments work best for splish splashing!

SANDALS: I like to spend more on one pair of good quality shoes per season for my little girls. I like Geox because they are very durable and yet still so cute. These metallic, studded sandals would go perfectly with any outfit.

Check out Samantha and her girls adorable style over at Cherry Pie Twins!

SALE ALERT: J. CREW

J. Crew is having a 30% off summer sale right now through June 9th. Use the code SUMMER30 for the discount. I stocked up on some essentials for Kingsley and a few tops for me. I picked up this Peplum top (in navy and white) and this striped Painter Tee. And I got Kingsley a few cute tees (the Boys Ringer Pocket Tee, Park 'N Ride and The Best), a Baseball Sweatshirt, Shorts (these Turquoise ones and Seersucker) and these Adidas kicks

LIPSTICK MOMENT

I have always been a Gloss girl. I've been obsessed with lip glosses forever and always have multiples at hand where ever I go. They've always been my go-to. When I leave in the morning or throughout the day, I usually just swipe gloss on my lips and go. I still bought lipsticks but I just didn't wear them very often. But in the last few months, I've stopped using gloss and have been borderline obsessed with lipstick. I'm having a Lipstick 'moment.' I don't know why I've made the shift but I've been feeling a 'Lipstick' lip over gloss for the last few months. And I've also been experimenting with colour a lot more (red, fuschia, light pinks). Amanda and I had a conversation about it a few weeks ago and she was finding the same thing. She's moved away from gloss to lipstick. Since it wasn't a conscious decision, I don't know if the move is because there's a Lipstick trend right now and I was unconsciously following it or whether after wearing gloss for years, I'm just in need of a change... Is anyone else experiencing a Lipstick moment?

FEELING LAZY

After hearing Danna rave about her new "coziest sweatpants ever," I became somewhat obsessed with these Lazy Pants. They come in a rainbow of colours and look unbelievably comfy! Lazy Pants are made to feel roomy without being baggy, with traditional drawstrings and tight elastic cuffs. They really do look like the coziest pants ever.
